Gisborne Farmers is a joint venture company locally owned by David Streeter and Elders New Zealand Limited.

Gisborne Farmers Limited and Elders Livestock provide a comprehensive network of over 80 agents throughout the North and South Islands offering a variety of selling options to clients with the objective being to maximise buyer competition to ensure optimum returns are generated for the vendor. The group specialises in selling livestock at auction or privately, as well as export drafting of sheep, cattle and deer.

John Harris, the local business manager says support and loyalty from clients is strong. And the increased support from clients is due to the fact that the company has a very strong regional identity and a very high calibre of agents working in the interests of the client and the company.

A P.C. based system was installed in July 1996 to ensure livestock transactions were captured locally and in the most efficient manner. In 2001 new computers were linked to the local sale yards for processing of the sales and to provide on-line up-to-the-minute information to satisfy all our clients' needs.
